Bhawanipatna, Mar 21: Today the Director General of Odisha Police (DGP) KB Singh reviewed anti-Maoist operations at the district police headquarters in Kalahandi. Singh discussed with other officials on shortage of force and proposals for upgradation of the police stations particularly in border areas. IG Operations R.P. Koche, DIG Intelligence Narsingh Bhola, DIG (South Western Range) S. Saini and SOG commandant and other officials were present at the review meeting. The crime and naxal activities in Kalahandi where couple of incidents have been reported recently were also reviewed. Strategies are to be chalked out to nab the naxals in the detected areas both here and in the nearby districts. Singh further stated that the Maoists are under control and the recruitment of police forces at the shortage areas would be completed within six months.
