Bhubaneswar/Jatni, Mar 23: Another new shocking case has come forward. A minor girl has brought rape allegations against the ASHA KIRAN shelter home. She is an inmate of the shelter home. She alleged that she has been raped and her foetus was aborted. Her statements have been recorded under Sec 161 and she has been shifted to a NGO in Kalinganagar here. Members of the District Child Protection are conducting a one-to-one counselling of both the inmate of the shelter home after shifting them to other places, one being the Bangladeshi minor boy and other being this minor girl, on the orders of the Distict Collector and the Child Welfare Committee. This was informed by Banishree Pattnaik, District Child Protection Officer, Khurda.
Earlier, a Bangladeshi boy, 15, had managed to escape from the shelter home and alleged torture. Acting on the statement of the victim, police arrested Asha Kiran chief Hochiminh Shastri and staff Jagannath Dash and produced them in the court.
