Cuttack, Mar 29: Today it’s been the third day since the junior doctors and house surgeon of SCB medical college and hospital began their stir and today the team of 15 doctors who had resorted to Padyatra to Raj Bhawan yesterday holding the photo of Gandhi, will meet the Governor today thus requesting to ensure safety of the working doctors at all health centres across Odisha. The team is led by Dr Bhupendra Buda. Buda stated to the media that they would submit a memorandum to the Governor in view of requesting non-violence at all medical colleges and hospitals. They hope that the Governor might amend the security system. The senior resident doctors also joined the stir today as a result the patients both at the hospital and the ones coming from far off places could not be attended to and were seen standing at the OPD for long.

Notably, on Sunday relatives of a patient at the pulmonary medicine ward beat up a doctor allegedly charging medical negligence due to which the patient died. The irate PG students filed a complaint at the Magalabag PS upon which the cops have detained one while others have escaped.
