Rambha(Ganjam), Apr 5: The Ganjam cops achieved another major success by arresting the dreaded criminal Santosh Behera. Behera was nabbed in a joint operation of Rambha, Hinjili and Sheragada police at Poirasi late last night. In the joint operation, Behera got bullet injuries on his left leg and has now been admitted to the MKCG hospital, Berhampur. A special team was constituted by the Ganjam SP Ashish Kumar Singh comprising officers of Rambha, Hinjili and Sheragada PS after being tipped off about criminals taking money from local businessmen and issuing them life threats. Based on inputs about Santosh Behera and his aides’ movements in Poirasi area, the police team started the operation. His aide and another criminal Bijay Moharana has escaped. A search warrant has been launched to nab him. It’ also stated that the inspector-in-charge (IIC) of Hinjili PS and a constable have also sustained minor injuries. One pistol, two rounds of live bullets and five non-exploded bombs have been seized from Behera’s possession along with two bikes been seized from the scuffle spot.
