Bhubaneswar, Apr 5: Talks are around town that before the BJP’s national executive meet in Odisha, some MPs and MLAs from BJD are to join the saffron party. This was stated by senior party leader and Union Minster, Jual Oram. Not only BJD, former MLAs, MPs, ministers of other parties are also on the verge of joining the BJP. Jual did not divulge the names and the number of such members. After the performance of BJP in the recently concluded elections in four states, everyone is heading towards BJP. Few days ago, former Congress MLA and a former Zilla Parishad Chairperson joined BJP. Leader joining BJP is not something that the observers are able to digest it. If less than one-third of the number of legislators and MPs switch to another party, then the anti-defection law can be invoked leading to cancellation of membership, which further undermines chances of MLAs and MPs joining BJP.
