Puri, Apr 22: Alleging idols being stolen from Puri Jagannath temple on the pretext of renovation, the Shree Jagannath Sena (SJS), yesterday, had filed a complaint at the Singhadwara Police station regarding the same.
The Sena, yesterday, filing a complaint, had protested against the stealing of idols from the temple in the past 45 years and have also demanded for an investigation into the matter.
Notably, as per the complaint, idols of Swargadwara Jaya Vijaya, Saptasakhi and Dasavatara have been stolen from the temple premises. Where as attempts to steal the Nata Ganesh idol at the Bhoga Mandap were also made.
Talking to the media, SJS Convener Priyadarshi Patnaik said, “the idols have either been stolen or kept somewhere else. If the ASI has kept them somewhere else, then it should display the properties in the museum.
