Bhubaneswar, Apr 28: For alleged practise of witchcraft, a woman and her daughter were hacked to death by a youth at Ragadisahi in Keonjhar district late last evening, while the woman’s husband and son suffer critical injuries after getting brutally attacked by the same person.
As of sources, identified as Rinku Sahu, the accused, after being mentally disturbed over his family’s poor health condition, attacked the woman, identified as Kalabati Dalanaik and her daughter Seema, suspecting them to be practising black magic. During the incident, Kalabati’s husband Bhubana and son were also injured by his attack.
Currently Bhubana and son are undergoing treatment at the Telkoi Hospital in the district and is stated to be critical, said sources.
In the meanwhile, the police has registered a case against the accused, who is said to be absconding.
