Houses at low price to labourers in five places in Odisha; Labour Minister Prafulla Mallick

Bhubaneswar, May 2: On Monday, Labour Minister Prafulla Mallick made an announcement that labourers will be provided with houses at low price in five places in Odisha. Those five places are Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Jajpur, Paradip and Berhampur under the Odisha Housing and Urban Development Department. Mallick made this announcement on the occasion of Labour Day. He further added that unorganized and domestic labourers will be registered under the Construction Workers Welfare Board (CWWB). Also, special action plan would be strategized to wipe out child labour in Odisha. As of now, 18,45,000 construction workers have been registered by the CWWB and have been provided with Rs 389 crore as financial assistance.

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on the other hand laid the foundation stone for the construction of decided shelter homes for the labourers at 21 places in  the state, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Berhampur, Paradip, Angul, Dhenkanal and Jharsuguda through video conference. Regarding the well-being of the Odia labourers working in Telangana, the CM stated that he has had a discussion with the Telangana Home and Labour minister.
