Bhubaneswar, May 15: On Sunday, teachers of Odisha’s 12 universities are suppose to conduct a cease-work stir from Jun 1 thus demanding an increase in the retirement age to 65. This was informed to media by the Federation of Odisha University Teachers’ Association (FOUTA). Although the University Grants Commission (UGC) has recommended the Odisha government to raise the retirement age limit from 60 to 65 but the delay in implementation of the recommendation has forced them to protest at the State Assembly on May 18. If demands are not fulfilled that June 1 will be oberseved as a cease-work stir day. Another demand is also to fill up the vacant seats in the universities.
