Bhadrak, May 31: On Monday late night a one-month old girl child was found abandoned on the veranda of an orphanage, Vathsalya- at Januganj here. The officials at the orphanage saved the infant upon hearing her screams. Also a bag full of baby foods, clothes, oil and infant things were also found. The officials immediately took the baby to the nearby hospital and conducted medical test on her. Fortunately, the baby was diagnosed to be safe and sound. An employee at the orphanage said that it’s God’s mercy that even after lying abandoned on the verandah for hours, the stray dogs did not notice her.
