Bhubaneswar: June 06: Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited celebrated the world environment day at its headquarter office where Sri Hemant Sharma,IAS , Secretary Energy graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The celebration started by planting trees of important species in the premises of the office by the senior officials. “Being related to the energy business, we should have the major role to take utmost care for the up-gradation of the environment. We should not take any step that will degrade the ecosystem.” urged Sri Sharma in his address to the employees. “While taking care the need of the present generation, we must not forget the need of future generation. We should follow 3R mantra that is Reduce, Reuse & Recycle to protect our environment “said Sri G.K Ray, Ex- Professor, NIT Rourkerla as chief speaker on the occasion. “All the living beings and the Nature are complementary to each other. The increasing temperature is the symptom of disharmony. It is the need of time to reconnect to the nature to harness the harmony for human existence.” Said Sri Rajendra Senapati, Director (HRD), OPTCL in his welcome speech. The program ended with a prize distribution ceremony to the children of the employees for different competitions held on the occasion.
