Puri: July 05:Today, Adhara Pana was offered to the deities on chariots. This is a ritual done just a day after Sunabesha. It’s a sweet drink prepared as per the particular specification and offered to Lord Jagannath and his siblings. Large number of devotees witnessed this great event. After the Sodosha Upachar Pooja the drink was offered to the deities following which the barrels were broken on the chariots. As per the ritual, it is first offered to Trinity and then all bad ‘spirits’ used to have it who trail the Lords during their nine-day long Yatra and attain salvation or ‘Mokshya’ by having this drink. Thursday is Niladree Bije, the day Trinity will enter the sanctum sanctorum.
