Bhubaneswar, 10th August: To honour the sincerity, vigilant and prompt action to prevent a possible train mishap, two loco pilots were felicitated by ECoR General Manager Umesh Singh on Wednesday.
Loco pilot B Jagadeesh and assistant loco pilot KV Krishna of Chhattisgarh’s Bacheli station were rewarded with cash awards for their quick action in preventing the mishap.
As per a press release by ECoR, the two loco pilots were performing their duties in a goods train from Jagadalpur to Koraput on July 30 when they observed some fish plates and coil spring kept on the track by miscreants at Khadapa Station Yard in Koraput district.
The train was immediately stopped by them as a result of which a possible major disaster and loss to railway property was averted. Three fish plates and one coil spring were removed from the railway track for train operations after they reported the matter.
