New Delhi, Nov 21: The Indian Air Force, pressed for relief and rescue operations in rain battered Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh has successfully completed its task.
It carried out a total of 25 sorties to drop 5000 Kgs of food material and other items and rescued 25 persons stranded at different places.
IAF helicopters operated in the marginal weather to drop relief material and rescue the affected people especially women, infants and senior citizens around Chennai where low lying areas were completely submerged and around Tirupathi and Nellore areas in Andhra Pradesh.
