Cuttack: May 6:Noted lyricist of Odia cine industry Gurukrushna Goswami passed away this morning. After prolonged illness, Goswami breathed his last at Shivaji Nagar in Cuttack at the age of 85. He was born on 6th May,1934 at Nuagaon of Baripada Town, Mayurbhanj. He started his career as a lyricist in Ollywood in film ‘Maa’ in 1958. His songs in ‘Suryamukhi’, ‘Gapa Helebi Sata’, ‘Arundhanti’, ‘Samay’, ‘Priyatama’, ‘Pathara Khasuchi Bada Deulu’ are still in the memory of odiya audiences. Besides, writing lyrics, he has written script for two films ‘Arundhanti’ and ‘Suryamukhi’.
Odiya Film Industry saddened by the demise of Gurukrushna Goswami. He is survived by wife, two sons and two daughter-in-laws.
