Bhubaneswar: August 29: The 2nd annual conference of the Odisha arthroplasty Association (OAA) was held in KIMS on the 25th of August 2018. The conference was attended by more than one hundred delegates from around the state. There were five National Faculties and one International Faculty. Prof. Dr C S Yadav from AIIMS, New Delhi shared his experiences on Arthroplasty while International faculty Dr Ananta Mohapatra discussed about joint replacement in the UK. He expressed his happiness with the development of joint replacement in Odisha. Dr Vikash Kapoor performed a live surgery and took part in the discussion. Dr. Subhransu Mohanty from Mumbai Professor at the KEM Medical College also shared his knowledge and experience with the delegates at the conference. Prof. Dr Jyotin Kumar Das, Principal, KIMS joined as Chief Guest while Professor Dr Subrat Kumar Acharya, Pro-Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University joined as guest of honour and spoke on the occasion.
The conference was organised under the aegis of the Orissa Orthopaedic Association by Dr. B. K. Behera Professor of orthopaedics, KIMS. The annual Association meeting of the Orissa Arthroplasty Association was held there after and was presided over by Dr Tanmoy Mohanty president of OAA. Secretary Dr.Debabrata Padhi, Vice President Dr. Biswajit Sahu. Dr.Abani Kanta Mishra, President of Odisha Orthopaedic Association was also present at the meeting. It was concluded at the meeting to have annual conference of the arthroplasty association every year.
