Dhenkanal: December 02: Dhenkanal Police arrested three persons involved with the alleged sexual harassment in a shelter home run by Good News India shelter home in Dhenkanal district. The persons arrested by Police are Good News India shelter home Chief Fayaz Rahman and his two associates Simanchal Nayak and Udit Lima. Also, Police sealed the shelter home.
Prafulla Samal, Minister for Women and Child Development said, the shelter home was functioning illegally at Beltikiri village in Dhenkanal and District Collector has been asked to shut down the shelter home.
Minister for Women and Child Development also said, raids will be conducted at all illegal shelter homes across Odisha. District Collectors have been asked to shut down shelter homes running without the required registration under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and rehabilitate the children staying there.
Sources said, a four-member team conducted raid on another shelter home of GNI at Penthakata, Puri.
