Shillong, Dec 6: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary today said ISIS threat is “not being taken lightly” and states have been alerted.
The government, he said, was aware of the threat posed by the ISIS the world over and in the country in particular.
Chaudhury told reporters on the sidelines of his reviewing the 41st passing out parade of the North Eastern Police Academy near here, that all states have been asked to be alert, “especially at the borders”.
Stating that all central agencies were working to negate the threat, the Union Minister said, “The personnel at the international border have been asked to be alert.”
Chaudhary also said that jailed ULFA leader Anup Chetia has to face the legal process and not go scot-free.
“Nobody can escape the law. Chetia has to go through the legal process (for his criminal acts),” he said.
