Four dead, 15 hospitalised after consumption of liquor in Bhadrak District of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: April 30: Four persons died in Odisha’s Bhadrak district after consuming liquor at a post-election get together and more than fifteen persons are undergoing treatment in district hospital, Bhadrak.

After consuming liquor in the feast, they complained of nausea and vomiting. They were initially admitted to the Tihidi community health centre and later shifted to the Bhadrak district headquarters hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Sadhu Charan Nayak, Sarbeswar Das, Rama Chandra Padihari and Sankarshan Parida.

Following the incident, locals blocked the Tihidi-Chandbali Road by burning tyres.

Bhadrak district administration is yet to confirm whether the victims consumed spurious liquor or not.

District Collector Gyana Das has ordered an administrative probe to confirm the exact cause of death.
