New Delhi, Dec 7: India ranked sixth in the number of total annual research papers published and contributed 4.36 per cent of the global output in 2013, the government said on Monday.
According to the latest statistics available with the Department of Science and Technology, India is third among all countries in terms of scientific publications in nano science and technology, Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani said in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.
She also said that a highly regarded science watch group, Thomson Reuters, predicts that “India’s research productivity will be on par with most G8 nations within seven to eight years”.
