Odisha: Bhubaneswar Railway Station to have a new look soon

Bhubaneswar: July 14: Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman Railway Board (CRB) visited Bhubaneswar station on July 14 and informed, ‘Bhubaneswar station main entrance will be redeveloped with the help of State Government and all the issues regarding signing of MoU with the state Government has been sorted out.  It will be signed soon’.

Also, the Second entry from PF-6 side will be developed and fund has been provided to improve circulating area and road connectivity to the station.

Chairman, Railway Board clarified, ‘There will be no fund constraint for any project as additional fund can be provided through Extra Budgetary resources (EBR) for the economical viable projects’.

As there is demand to run more trains from Bhubaneswar, a survey has been sanctioned this year to run freight trains by-passing Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.  It will facilitate to run more trains from Bhubaneswar and Cuttack soon, Chairman said.

He appreciated the commendable work done by East Coast Railway officials for the restoration of Bhubaneswar Railway station, Puri Railway station and Puri coaching deport in quick time before Rath Yatra.

Speaking on the growth of the Indian Railway, he said, ‘In last 25 to 30 years there has been significant growth in Railway Traffic in the country. So the main focus of the Indian Railways is infrastructure development besides taking care of passenger amenities and up gradation work on priority basis.

Also, as informed, Indian Railway is working to improve Train Punctuality. All the engine of will be fitted with GPS system by the end of this financial year to know real time position of the Trains.  It will operate on Real time Information System (RTIS) with the help of ISRO satellite.
