Jajpur: October 17: Death of Village Level Worker (VLW) of Haridaspur Panchayat Smitarani Biswal under mysterious conditions became a issue of discussion in the locality.
On Wednesday, after distributing allowances in Bhadanga Village, the VLW Smitarani Biswal came to have lunch with Sarpanch Madhusmita Bhadra and her husband Rupesh Bhadra at later’s Guest House. Many other people of the locality were also there to participate in feast.
Before the lunch, Smitarani had gone to the first floor of the guest house to freshen up.
Later, she was found hanging with her chunri from the ceiling fan in the guest house, said Rupesh.
Dharmashala Police arrived and took Smitarani to Dharmasala hospital where the doctors declared her ‘brought dead’.
The father of the deceased had filed a complaint with the police over the death of his daughter alleging foul play.
Police detained five persons in connection with the death of VLW Smitarani Biswal.
