Bhubaneswar: July 7: One Maoist was killed during an exchange of fire with the security forces in Sirla Forest under Tumudibandha Area of Kandhamal District.
During a search operation by Security Forces, Maoists opened fire at the SoG and District Voluntary Force.
The security personnel fired in retaliation and the Maoists fled from the spot.
Body of a Maoist was found from the spot. Police also seized arms & ammunition from the area.
On 5th July, four Maoists were killed in a gun battle with the security forces in the same forest.
