Bhubaneswar: February 24: MLA Pradeep Panigrahi has been granted temporary relief by the High Court.
The Orissa High Court on Wednesday granted conditional bail to Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi in connection with a fraud case filed by the State Crime Branch.
Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi was jailed on charges of extorting money from job seekers.
He was released on bail in lieu of two bail bonds of Rs 5 lakh each along with a cash deposit of Rs 24 lakh.
As per the information, after getting bail also, he will be in Jail because he has not been granted bail in other cases against him.
He was accused of collecting money in the name of providing jobs in a private company on behalf of Akash Kumar Pathak, son of suspended Forest officer Abhay Kant Pathak.
