Bhubaneswar: February 27: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today presented the ‘Shrimandira Parikrama Plan’ in the House.

Presenting the Plan, Naveen Patnaik said, ‘ The greatest identity of the Oriya Community is Lord Jagannath. Our history, culture, tradition and belief are all centered around the Supreme Lord. He is the symbol of Odiya Esteem & Pride’. He also said, ‘We are fortunate that, He has given us the opportunity to develop the abode of the Lord’.

All devotees and Jagannath lovers who come to the temple to see the Lord have a desire in their hearts to see how they can see the Lord in a calm and beautiful spiritual environment. Coming to the Jagannath Temple once in a lifetime and getting a glimpse of the Lord is the only prayer of the lives of millions of devotees. It is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that all devotees can experience a divine experience, Chief Minister said.

In this regard, when the Justices BP Das Committee recommended for the Safety    Corridor of Shrimandira,  the Temple’s Corridor Plan was visualized with following three objectives;

1. Security of the temple
2. Safety of millions of devotees who come to see the Lord
3. Creating a beautiful spiritual environment for devotees

Accordingly, the Shrimandira Parikrama Plan has been prepared after several discussions with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration  and various stakeholders. The plan was approved at a meeting chaired by Gajapati King on February 15 and sent to the Government for final nod.

He further said, Shrimandira Parikrama Yojana is not only just a plan of the Government, but also it is the plan for 4.50 crore people of Odisha.
Chief Minister said, “Srimandir is the center of our spiritual heritage, which we have inherited from generation to generation. We have preserved this priceless treasure for our future descendants in the legacy. We have to look into the Shrimandira Parikrama Plan with this spirit and make it happen with collective efforts.”
