Three members of a family died due to an electrocution mishap at Banito village under Tirtol police limits in Jagatsinghpur district on Wednesday evening.
A couple and their daughter were killed after suffering electric shock from a circuit board in their house.
One lady Kamini came in contact with electric current while clicking a switch. Her husband Pintu Swain and eight year old daughter Papali rushed to save Kamini. They also received electrical shock as they came in contact with Kamini. All three died.
The son of Pintu Swain got escaped as he was in other room.
Kumarbar, a neighbour of them rushed to the house after hearing their screams and tried to save them. But, he too suffered the shock. They were taken to nearest health centre at Manijangha. Doctors declared all three members of the family dead. The neighbour who got injuries, has been shifted to Jagatsinghpur Hospital in a critical condition for further treatment.
