PG courses in Odisha’s Capital Hospital soon

Bhubaneswar, Dec 19: The Odisha Government has decided to introduce Post Graduate (PG) courses at the Capital Hospital here. The Government too decided to spend Rs 170 crore to develop the hospital as a PG Institute of Medical Sciences.  The development work would be completed March 2017.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Secretariat also attended by Health and Family Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, Health and Family Welfare Secretary Arti Ahuja and many senior officials.

In the first phase 26 PG seats would be opened. According to sources, eight departments, Medicine, Surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, Diagnostics, Anaesthesia, Radiology and Paediatrics, will be opened in the PG Institute.

The Chief Minister also took stock of the progress of the reviewed of construction of five colleges at Puri, Balangir, Koraput, Balasore and Baripada. It was revealed that the construction work would be completed by March, 2017.
