Odisha has registered 42.48 per cent growth of Covid-19 cases in 24 hours. It had reported 1897 new Covid Positive Cases yesterday and today it has reported 2703 cases.
If we shall look at the data of this month, on 1st January, 298 cases were found in Odisha and on 7th January, it has gone up to 2703. So it is spreading fast…faster than the earlier waves.
Of 2703 new cases, 409 cases are under 0-18 years’ old.
Almost all the districts of Odisha have reported new Covid-19 Cases. Khurda District recorded 926 fresh cases in 24 hours, followed by Sundargarh 454 cases, Cuttack 191 cases, Sambalpur 179 cases, Jharsuguda 106 cases, Jajpur 78 cases, Bargarh 75 cases, Balasore 73 cases, Balangir & Puri 54 cases each and 211 cases have been detected from the State Pool.
204 patients recovered from the disease yesterday. Total tally of positive cases (since the beginning of the pandemic) increased to 10,62,476. Out of that, 10,45,718 have already recovered from the disease.
Active caseload also increased to 8237.
One person succumbed to the disease in 24 hours and with this, total death toll increased to 8,468.
68,970 tests have been conducted in 24 hours. Daily Positivity Rate increased to 3.92 per cent.
