February 25/ A woman from Assam has filed a complaint before Odisha Police in Bhubanewar against the fake doctor Ramesh Swain. She is a Doctor by profession, is also a victim.
As alleged by the woman doctor from Assam, they had met each other on a matrimonial site. Further, they contacted each other through phone and Swain had visited Assam thrice to meet her.
She added, “We got married on May 31, 2021. At that time, Swain went to Guwahati with some of his relatives’.
After marriage, they stayed in a rented house in Khandagiri area of Bhubaneswar city and the victim said, Ramesh took Rs.21.44 lakh from her on the pretext of buying a flat in Guwahati worth Rs.70 lakh so that they can shift there together.
At the time of ‘Griha Prabesh’, Ramesh Swain introduced her with two women as his sister and step-mother. Then she went back to Assam after some time. After hearing the news of his arrest, he could realize that she is cheated, said the Woman.
The accused also took gold ornaments and a mobile phone from her after the marriage, alleged the Woman.
The woman requested all victims like her to come forward and appealed them to file complaints against Swain to punish him so that such crime does not take place anymore in India.
Investigating Officer of the case said, “Ramesh Swain had introduced himself as Vijayshree Ramesh Kumar on the matrimonial site and married the woman. After receiving a written complaint from the victim, we have registered another fresh case against him.”
Meanwhile, court has allowed police to take swain on 3-day remand staring from 25th February.
