CP to step up vigil for New Year’s eve

Bhubaneswar, Dec 29; Commissionerate Police in Twin city of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar have made elaborate security arrangements for New Year’s eve celebrations.

Security personnel would be deployed across the city particularly important tourist spots and hotels. The police said there is a general alert following routine inputs from security agencies about a possible terror attack.

As many as 15 platoons of police forces will be deployed at all sensitive spots and public places like, five-star hotels, railway stations, junctions and the airport. The police have also planned to resort to blocking at 20 places to keep a strict vigil on tipsy revelers.

Police have also asked the hotel and bar owners to make adequate security arrangement at their establishments and ensure that drunk guests are not allowed to drive out of the premises themselves.
