Bhubaneswar, Dec 30: Under National Food Security Act (NFSA) the Odisha Government would distribute kerosene among the beneficiaries on per person basis instead of card basis from Jan 1, 2016.

Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Secretary Madhusudan Padhi told reporters here that a total of 2.96 crore people would get benefit.

Currently, the State is getting its monthly quota of 3.24 crore litre kerosene from the Centre and under the current system the beneficiaries are getting four litres per ration card.

“But under the revised system, each beneficiary would get one litre of kerosene a month,” Padhi said.
