Puri/Bhubaneswar: May 15: A woman donated Rs.20 lakh to the Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri. Suprabha Panda, a resident of Sadanandapur, Basta in Balasore district, sold her land measuring 24 decimal in Cuttack and donated 20 lakhs to Shri Jagannath Temple and the rest 15 Lakhs to Sambhunath High School at Basta.
Sources said the woman was trying to fulfill her husband’s last wish. For which she sold out the land at Cuttack and donated Rs.20 Lakhs to the Srimandir.
Her husband Pankaj Kanta Panda wanted to make some donations to the Temple, but before he could donate anything, he succumbed to a fatal disease. However, Pankaj had reportedly shared his last wish to his wife before his death. After him, Suprabha took the responsibility to fulfill her husband’s last wish.
