Bhubaneswar, January 1: The BJD on Thursday announced the dates for its organisational polls, which would be held in five phases. This was informed by the Party State Election Officer Pratap Keshari Deb.
As per the schedule, panchayat and ward level leaders would be elected on January 14 and block, nagar and council committees would be finalised on January 21.
Besides, the district committees and district presidents would be held in the third phase on January 31 and, finally, the president would be elected on March 1.
Party State Election Officer Pratap Keshari Deb has appointed district returning officers (DROs) for 32 organisational districts to manage polls. The BJD State council will have 147 elected members for each of the Assembly constituencies. Besides, all MPs, MLAs and district presidents will be members of the council. The State executive including the party president will be elected in the fifth phase of election.
