EOW Of Odisha Arrests A Builder In Rs.15 Crore Cheating Case
Bhubaneswar: July 20: The Odisha Economic Offences Wing (EOW) arrested Santosh Kumar Rath, the additional director of a real estate firm M/s Mishra Creations Pvt. Ltd., on Thursday for his alleged involvement in an Rs15 crore cheating case. He has cheated investors by promising them flats in his project ‘Utopia’ in Chandaka, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

Previously, Jyoti Ranjan Mishra, managing director of the same real estate company, was arrested in connection with a case filed by Swadesh Ray Chaudhury.
According to EOW officials, both of them cheated Swadesh and other investors under the pretense of providing apartments in the “Utopia” project.
The flats had to be turned over within 30 months as per the agreement. However, despite the passage of eight years, neither the flat has been delivered nor the invested money was refunded to the investors, according to the officials.
