Duplicate Liquor Destroyed in Smart City

Bhubaneswar: The Excise department destroyed duplicate liquor seized from a liquor shop at Baramunda area in the capital city.

The Excise officials conducted a surprise raid at the government-licensed shop at Baramunda area and found duplicate liquor being sold to the consumers. A JCB loader was brought in to crush the illegal liquor.

According to an excise official, they had collected some liquor samples and found that the cap of liquor bottles, hologram and other features were different.

“Today, we raided the place where the staff were staying. We found several caps and excise adhesives at that place. Later, during the raid on the shop, we detected the same cap and labels on various bottles,” the official said.
