Odisha senior Police Officers’ meet from tomorrow, Terror threat on table

Bhubaneswar, Jan 6: The two-day 59th Senior Police Officers’ Conference of Odisha Police will be inaugurated on Thursday at the State Police headquarters in Cuttack. The conference will host deliberations on pressing and emerging issues of law and order, crime, extremism and terrorism.

DGP KB Singh will inaugurate the ceremony on Jan 7, the valedictory function will be attended by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneswar on January 8.

The Superintendents of Police of all districts, Commandants of all Armed Police Battalions, Range IGs and DGs, IPS officers under training, senior officers of various police establishments as well as the Home Guards and Fire Services organisations, Vigilance, State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation, prison organisation, OHRC and State Transport Authority will participate in the conference.

During the conference, there will be deliberations on professional policing subjects like Leftwing extremism, law and order situations, crime situations with emphasis on crime against women and children, improving quality of investigation and prosecution, human rights-related issues, protection of weaker sections, improving response at the police station level and community policing.
