Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has claimed that more than one crore women have registered for Odisha government’s Subhadra Yojana by Monday.

She said Chief Minister Mohan Charana Majhi would hand over the first installment of the second phase of the scheme at Baripada on Tuesday. Parida said in order to verify whether the bank accounts of the beneficiaries were operating or not and ensuring transparency in the system, a token amount of Re 1 was first sent to their accounts in the first phase. But this has not been implemented for the beneficiaries during the second phase of the scheme.

She said the beneficiaries can access the official site of ‘Subhadra’ or its official social media or call the toll-free number to get the update about the scheme. The ambitious scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a special function held in Bhubaneswar on September 17.

The second phase payment is scheduled to be released on October 9. The state government has already announced that the women beneficiaries, who complete their application process by October 7, would receive their first installment of Rs 5,000 on that day.
