Jharsuguda: Hours after a bomb threat at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda Airport also received a similar hoax bomb threat on Thursday.

Authorities swiftly followed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and heightened security checks at the airport. The bomb threat reportedly targeted a Bengaluru-Jharsuguda IndiGo flight, sparking panic among passengers. After the flight landed, bomb and dog squads were deployed to thoroughly inspect the area.

Despite the panic, the bomb threat was declared a hoax, with no explosives found. However, security at Jharsuguda Airport remains on high alert.

This incident follows a bomb scare at Bhubaneswar airport today, where airport director Prasanna Pradhan confirmed the threat as a hoax after security checks.

In the last 10 days, over 250 flights, including those operated by IndiGo, Vistara, SpiceJet, Air India, Akasa Air and Alliance Air have received similar hoax threats, causing significant inconvenience to passengers. Most of these threats reportedly originated from social media platforms.
