Bhubaneswar: Odisha is feeling the chill again as temperatures have dropped by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius predicted IMD. After a brief warm spell, the winter cold has returned. The night temperature has dropped below 15 degrees Celsius in 13 cities in Odisha.

According to the reports, the winter had started in late November but cloudy skies and light rain in early December had caused a sudden rise in temperature. Keonjhar and Angul witnessed the sharpest drop in temperature by a max of 5 degrees Celsius. Jharsuguda is currently the coldest district in Odisha. The night temperature was recorded as low as 10.8 degree Celsius. Meanwhile, the temperature plummeted by 3 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar. With this Odisha winter is back again.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted the night temperature to be steady. Over the next four to five days, there will be no significant changes in the temperature. The regional centre forecasted that the mercury is likely to dip further in the coming days intensifying the chill. The drop in night temperatures in Odisha has led to an increase in fog across the state. As a result, popular tourist spots are witnessing a surge in visitors.
