Bhubaneswar: Greeting the Odisha residents with Jay Jagannath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his speech at 12.02 pm after the address by CM Mohan Majhi.
He acknowleged the fact that he is visiting Odisha for the second time in 2025 after attending the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas in January. He said that he sees Purvi Bharat (Eastern India) as a growth engine for New India. He stressed that Odisha that has a glorious past with its ancient ports were a gateway to India’s trading. In the 21st century, Odisha is reviving its lost glory. The Bali Yatra is a standing proof to it.
Odisha has a rich legacy of trading with South East Asia and Singapore. Along with them even the ASEAN nations are also showing interest in ‘trade and tradition connection’ with Odisha. Opportiunities are opening up in Odisha with railway and highway network projects being built. Additionally ports are also being built to include Odisha in the front runners in Blue Economy in India.
He said that Odisha shows optimism and originality in building a New India. The people of Odisha are also keen in outperforming themselves to make India reach the 3rd biggest economy in the world.
Research and innovation are needed in today’s time. The govt is working to build a vibrant ecosystem for research and a special fund has also been generated for the same. Industries should come forward and work with govt, it is expected by all.”
At Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, PM Narendra Modi says, “You must have seen fabulous pictures of Coldplay concert organised in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. It shows that India has a massive scope for live concerts. Big artists from around the world are attracted towards India… I expect the state and the private sector to focus on needed infrastructure and skills.”
