Bhubaneswar: In a first of its kind, the Odisha Vidhan Sabha to paperless functioning in the house proceedings from today. Tabs were installed in the seats of 147 members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs).
The National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) has made all the necessary arrangements for the paperless proceedings in the Odisha Vidhan Sabha. For this tabs were installed in the seats of all the 147 MLAs. Henceforth, tablets will be used for every proceeding of the house.
Digapahandi MLA Siddhanta Mahapatra welcomed the step and said that it will not only prove to be an environmental friendly step but also will be helpful for the house proceedings. He said,” Earlier during the Supplementary questions, only the concerned MLA was given a written copy of the answer, others were not given a copy for general information. Only a common copy was available for the other members. However, with the use of tablets, I think everyone will be given the concerned answer.”
The budget session of Odisha is scheduled to begin from February 13. The Odisha Budget 2025-26 will be tabled in the paperless mode through tabs.
