Rain Alert: Orange & Yellow Warnings Issued For Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Different districts of Odisha including the Twin Cities of the State i.e Cuttack and Bhubaneswar will witness rainfall as the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warnings.

According to the weather department moderate rain/thundershower is likely to occur at different districts of the State in the next three hours while some others to receive light to moderate rain/thundershower during this period of time.

Orange Warning:

  • Moderate rain/thundershower with lightning with hail & one or two intense spell of rain likely to affect some districts of Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada and Puri within next three hours.
  • Water logging in low lying area, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban area likely, the IMD informed while advising people to avoid movement in affected area and do arrangement for drainage of excess water.

Yellow Warning:

  • Light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning likely to affect some parts of districts of Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda (Including Bhubaneswar City), Keonjhar and Bhadrak within next three hours.

People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strike.
