PM addresses farmers virtually at RUDSET

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed the farmers on “Agriculture & Rural Prosperity” through video conference organized at RUDSET Institute, Bhubaneswar.
He praised the central government decision to increase the credit limit under KCC (Kisan Credit Card) from 3 lakh to 5 lakh, after 18 years since 2006, considering the rising input costs, diversification into high value crops & expansion of allied activities like animal husbandry, Fisheries etc.
The Prime Minister advised the farmers to avail banking finance at lower RoI as prompt repayment incentive & interest subvention are provided in respective farmer’s KCC account.
A detailed discussion was held by dignitaries relating to challenges faced by small & marginal farmers, role of financial institutions, credit need of farmers engaged in allied activities, empowering FPOs, SHG & women farmers etc.
The farmers of Khordha district under guidance of LDM AC Agrawal actively participated the event held at RUDSETI Bhubaneswar & enriched their knowledge about various government schemes & available banking finance.
RUDSET Institute was established in 1999 as the 17th unit in the country. The Institute is having the operational area of Khordha District under the aegis of MoRD. It provides training, boarding & lodging and post training services completely free of cost.
The Institute also conducts area specific & need based income generation programme suitable for Self Help Groups of Khordha District under National Rural Livelihood Mission.
