Bhubaneswar: The highest temperature was recorded in Jharsuguda at 37.4 degrees as of 2:30 pm today. This year, there will be intense heat in March-April-May (MAM). The duration of heat wave will also be longer. Of course, it has been speculated that the Nor’wester (Kalbaisakhi) rain will bring relief from time to time in these three months. The Indian Meteorological Department has warned about this.
The IMD has estimated that the temperature will be higher than normal across the country this summer. This will also be the case in Odisha.
This time, the Meteorological Center has estimated that there will be 3 more days of heat wave than normal in March.
As per reports, this year, the temperature will be high throughout the summer months (MAM). Especially, temperatures will be significantly higher than normal in western Odisha. Usually, there is 4 days of heat wave in March. But this year, there will be 7 to 8 days of heat wave.
There will be 6 to 8 more days of heat wave than normal in the next 3 months. The regional weather centre has informed that the temperature will increase from today. The weather will remain dry for the next 5 days and the heat will be felt during the day.
The entire country broke the temperature record in 2023. However, the record of 2023 was broken in 2024, that is, last year, due to intense heat. Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre Director Manorama Mohanty said that the temperature will increase again this year compared to last year.
