Berhampur: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi distributed the second installment of Subhadra Yojana money in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries from Berhampur.
The second installment of Subhadra Yojana was distributed to 1 crore women beneficiaries today at the programme. The government released Rs 5,000 crores to the 1 crore beneficiaries today. He also handed over a few cheques to women on the stage.
The government had fixed the deadline to apply for Subhadra Yojana on March 31, 2025. Deputy Chief Ministers Pravati Parida and Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo were present in the programme.
It was first distributed on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17, 2024. It is a flagship scheme of Odisha government for women empowerment. Eligible women beneficiaries will receive Rs 10,000 in two installments, each of Rs 5,000.
While distributing the Subhadra Yojana for the women, CM Majhi also inaugurated 11 projects at an estimated cost of Rs 145 crores. He also laid the foundation stone of 30 projects at a cost of Rs 492 crores.
