Bhubaneswar: Odisha government is careful and aware about Forest fire issue in the State. There are 17 tribal districts in the state. In some areas, the locals set fire to clear the roads. However, there is no reason to panic, said Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia.

The department has more squads to prevent fires and they are alert, he added. The state has 52 thousand square kilometers of forest land. More focus is being given to the villages and towns adjacent to the forest in this regard.

The government is also focusing on the most sensitive forest areas in the state. In the villages adjacent to the forest, the people are being aware. Efforts are also being made so that more and more people can be made aware.

Each sensitive village is being provided with Rs 10,000 each so that they should prevent the anti-social elements who are setting fire the forest.
