There is no cyclone threat to Odisha, the IMD has not made any estimate regarding the possible cyclone. Some media organizations have been spreading fake news about a cyclone hitting Odisha. But the IMD has issued clarification that the news is baseless and mere rumor.

Meanwhile, a low-pressure area is likely to form in the west-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal by May 27. This low pressure will intensify further in the next two days. Due to its influence, there is a possibility of rain in various places in the state from May 27 to May 31. The regional meteorological center here in Bhubaneswar has predicted heavy rain in some places.

Then, the effect of Kalabaisakhi will remain in the entire state for the next seven days. Thunderstorms are likely to occur along with rain and thunderstorms. Yellow warning has been issued for 12 districts today for thunderstorms.
