Bhubaneswar, Aug 26: A tuition teacher, Rashmikant Sahu was arrested by the twin city Commissionerate police today for allegedly killing P Sheela Jaya, wife of additional vice-president of a leading liquor company, Anil Rajmohan.
Jaya, who was a resident of BJB Nagar here, had gone in her car to the coaching centre of Rashmikant at Chandrasekharpur last night. According to sources, it is alleged that Sahu killed her after they had a heated argument. He first hit her head with an iron rod and later throttled her to death.
The dead body of the deceased was found in a car in Chandrashekharpur last night.
As per sources, Sahu allegedly gave Rs 100 to the driver and sent him away to have food. After the driver waited for a while, he went inside the coaching centre and found Jaya lying on the floor. The doctors had declared Jaya dead when the driver and Sahu admitted her to a hospital later.
The Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said that during interrogation, Sahu confessed to having killed Jaya.
Rajmohan, the husband of the deceased was out of station when the incident took place. He said that Sahu used to come to his home to teach his son.
Suspicions are raised that an extra-marital affair between Sahu and Jaya led to the crime. However, the exact reason behind the crime is yet to be ascertained.
