Puri, Sept 26: A person identified as Ganga Gaj died after he was allegedly attacked by two shopkeepers at Batagaon Chhak in Puri last night over past enmity and extortion.
Reportedly, Gaj sustained critical injuries after the attack and was admitted in the district headquarters hospital. A decision to shift him to SCB Medical College and Hospital was taken as his condition deteriorated. However, on the way to the SCB hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
Prakash Gaj, the son of the deceased alleged that Kalia Bhol and Sudha Bhol attacked his father over past enmity and extortion.
As per the information from Officer-in-charge of Puri Sadar Police station Gourang Prusty, after the seizure of the body, the post mortem has been conducted. He further said that investigation is going on and stringent action will be taken against the culprits.
