Bhubaneswar, Nov 15: Over a third of schools in Odisha does not have toilets while 76 per cent have no facilities for the children to wash their hands.
According to a study, as much as 36 per cent schools do not have even one functional toilet while more than half of high schools do not have proper toilets for girls.
The assessment was carried out by 21 civil society organisations of Odisha under the banner of the Right to Education (RTE) forum with coordination support from Regional Centre for Development Cooperation (RCDC).
While 43 percent high schools did not have a single toilet, 79 percent of high schools did not have menstrual hygiene management facilities, said the report.
